Join us for On Earth Peace's next community meetup on September 17th from 3-4:30pm EST. These meetups, initiated as the pandemic arose in early 2020, are relational gatherings with a theme. In each meeting, we welcome new and returning friends and seek to build community, conviction, and capacity. These sessions are not "webinars" - they provide a time for relationship and conversation, with focused content that we engage together. 

The theme of this meeting is focused around the book The Highest of All Mountains: A Guide for Christians Seeking Peace and Becoming Peacemakers by Samuel Sarpiya. This book is for people who believe that the gospel is a message of peace and this gospel of peace is relevant for our time. Peacemaking is a core part of our Christian discipleship just as we learn how to pray, just as we learn how to love our neighbors, just as we learn how to feed the hungry. We can also learn how to be peacemakers. This book will serve as a guide that will offer a scriptural guide with practical stories and applications. Readers will be challenged by Scripture to take the call to peacemaking into their communities.

About the author: Samuel Sarpiya is an author, teacher, trainer, activist, and coach for leaders who wants to create a better world from the inside out using peace and nonviolence method. His book includes The Highest of All Mountains; A guide for people seeking peace. 2021. He is a contributing author to books including Speak Peace. Samuel, leads an annual training on nonviolence and social change for peace practitioners from multiple countries, he also is the lead trainer on Community Policing for Police Departments across the US. Samuel has extensive background in church leadership and non-profit leadership-based organization. He is a graduate of Bethany Theological Seminary with a Master of Divinity in Conflict Transformation, Richmond Indiana and a Doctorate Degree in Semiotics and Future Studies from George Fox University in Portland, Oregon, and have received training from University of Rhode Island and Nonviolence and Conflict Transformation, Certificate in Critical Incidences and Stress Management, Certificate in Disaster Response and Management from the Red Cross. He has served as a pastor and a Police Chaplain for 10 years.
