Michigan District Core Training in Kingian Nonviolence
Plant Justice, Grow Peace and the Discipleship Team of the MI District Church of the Brethren invite you to join for this special opportunity!
Come and join others from the Michigan District of the Church of the Brethren (and invited guests) from March through May for a transformational course exploring Dr. King's philosophy and methodology of nonviolence.
The course will provide opportunities for those working on specific community projects to develop their plans while also being an open opportunity for people who are simply exploring the nonviolence approach.
Sessions will include special attention to Christian spiritual formation for nonviolence, grounded in Dr. King’s sermons and writings, and time for spiritual discipline and socio-theological reflection.
This training has helped thousands of people in various social justice movements, prisons, schools, and other communities understand the depth of the philosophy of nonviolence and conflict reconciliation.
If you are a church leader or layperson, an organizer working for social change, an activist working to reduce violence in your community, a youth worker/organizer, or someone who wants to know how to resolve your personal conflicts, this workshop is for you!
This initiative is part of On Earth Peace’s initiative to train 1000 Brethren in Kingian Nonviolence.
This training is for people affiliated with the Michigan District of the Church of the Brethren and their invited guests. If you are interested in the training but not somehow connected with the Michigan district, please contact us at [email protected] to inquire about future opportunities.
