Congratulations to our first two groups of grant recipients for our Community Engagement Grants for Youth Groups.

OEP’s Community Engagement Grants for Youth Groups pose as a new initiative within OEP to give back to our local communities. Through these grants, we hope to encourage community engagement and growth, and develop a better, more beautiful world than the one we came into.

Our first community grant recipient  group is the Borderless Relations Committee which will be helping youth in their community of Findlay, OH, learn about anti-racism and the dynamics of race within their community. Run by Christina Horn, Emi Kawamura, and Maree Lboaya (pictured below from left to right), they will be doing this by providing books and workshops to elementary schools.

The second group is the Agape Satyagraha Graduate Program with their project Peace Through Art which will engage the community by creating art that focuses around 4 topics including issues like gun violence and highlighting movements like Black Lives Matter! They will be learning together, creating together, and empowering their multiple communities in the United States around the ideas of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King and Mahatma Gandhi.

We are continuing to receive and review applications. Instructions for submission and the application can be found here!
