Paid Nonviolence Organizer Internships

We develop leaders through paid internships in Kingian Nonviolence organizing.

OEP interns work alongside a wide range of partners and leaders to help develop thriving communities of justice and peace, using the discipline of Kingian Nonviolence and other organizing tools in solidarity with current movements and accountability to impacted people.

Whether you want to change certain unjust policies or practices, or transform a beloved community and weave active nonviolence throughout its whole fabric, OEP and KNV can help.

Changing The World While You Learn

Supported by experienced full-time staff, interns lead our work in community organizing, communications, development, administration, and all other aspects of running a professional nonprofit organization for social change. Internships are for one year, and may lead to second year fellowships with deeper growth and experience for some interns.

We envision a world in Beloved Community, liberated from oppression, violence, and war. Our growing corps of interns, fellows, and alumni are leading the way into that world.

The Six Principles of Kingian Nonviolence

  1. Nonviolence is a way of life for courageous people.
  2. The Beloved Community is the framework for the future.
  3. Attack forces of evil, not persons doing evil.
  4. Accept suffering without retaliation for the sake of the cause to achieve the goal.
  5. Avoid internal violence of the spirit as well as external physical violence.
  6. The universe is on the side of justice.
