KINGIAN NONVIOLENCE CONFLICT RECONCILIATION

16-HOUR CORE TRAINING

February 9-11, 2024

First Presbyterian Church of Ulysses, Trumansburg, NY

Sponsor: Trumansburg Area Committee for Social Equity (TACSE)

Come and join us for a transformational weekend exploring Dr. King's philosophy and methodology of nonviolence. This workshop has helped thousands of people in various social justice movements, prisons, schools and other communities understand the depth of the philosophy of nonviolence and conflict reconciliation.

This training is being planned by Trumansburg Area Committee for Social Equity (TACSE), an organizing team in Trumansburg NY. TACSE has been collaborating since April 2022 to consider how Trumansburg area residents might use Kingian Nonviolence in our community.

Come join us to:

  • Introduce a framework for local organizing on issues of justice, equity, and inclusion
  • Connect with other Trumansburg area residents about our concerns of inequity in our community and what we could do about it together
  • Make connections between Kingian Nonviolence and our own lives
  • Come to see the rich Kingian legacy as a resource for conflict and social change today
  • Be exposed to core content of the Kingian Nonviolence philosophy and methodology
  • Deepen our understanding of how the values and disciplines of Kingian Nonviolence offer transformative possibilities
  • Practice what we’re learning, applying to specific issues and concerns brought by participants
  • Build community and a common language across the Trumansburg area
  • Stimulate a creative imagination for a nonviolent future

If you are an organizer working for social change, an activist working to reduce violence in your community, a youth worker, or just someone who wants to learn how to resolve their personal conflicts better, this training is for you!
