Preach Palestine Approaches
"For too long, churches have shied away from talking about Palestine from the pulpit, but we know that for our faith to be truly alive, we must preach good news to the poor and freedom to the oppressed (Luke 4:18). Sunday, November 29, the Sunday after Thanksgiving is the first week of Advent, when Christians around the world focus on Bethlehem, Palestine. It is also International Day of Solidarity for the Palestinian People.
Responding to the Cry for Hope from Palestinian Christians, Friends of Sabeel - North America (FOSNA) is inviting Christian leaders across the U.S. to commit their congregations to "Preach Palestine" on November 29th by incorporating Palestine into their worship service. FOSNA has gathered resources for worship planners from a diversity of traditions and voices.
With the International Day of Solidarity only a few days away, we once again would like to ask a question. Will you invite your congregation to be a part of our goal of 100 churches to "Preach Palestine" on November 29?
Unite at Decriminalize Indigenous Struggles from Turtle Island to Palestine, FOSNA’s Virtual Rally and Twitterstorm on November 29th at 4 pm EST. This event will center Palestinian and Indigenous voices who will speak about the impacts that criminalization by settler-colonial states have on their lives. RSVP for the event and learn more about the cause here
