Wren Evans, They/Him
Wren Evans is currently studying to complete a degree in Environmental Policy at Binghamton University (SUNY), where they hope to apply their knowledge to fight food injustice. They have recently completed a pollinator garden as a beautification and habitat preservation project on campus, and hope to pursue career options in education and horticulture after this experience. At school and home, Wren has been passionate about finding LGBTQ spaces in areas where queer people have less of a voice, such as the high school where they grew up. As one of the only out people in a rural high school, they established many of the facilities that they hoped future students would be able to utilize and make the road easier, such as a school QSA, or Queer-Straight-Alliance, and language and acceptance training by a local organization for facilty and teachers within the school. Today, he hopes to team up with other organizers to focus energy in support of trans women, specifically women of color, as direct legislation further attacks an already marginalized group.
