1. Gifts Through Your Will (Bequests):

  • Many donors have named On Earth Peace as a beneficiary in their will.

2. Harness Retirement Assets:

  • Retirement Plan Beneficiary Designation: Name On Earth Peace as a primary or contingent beneficiary of all or a percentage of your plan.
  • Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCDs): Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) is the minimum amount that owners of retirement plan accounts and traditional pre-tax IRAs generally must withdraw annually starting when they reach age 73. (Info courtesy IRS website.)
    • This process is called Qualified Charitable Distribution and OEP is a valid recipient for these distributions.

3. Strategic Giving Funds:

  • Donor-Advised Funds: DAFs are the fastest-growing charitable giving vehicles because they are easy and provide good tax benefits. When you contribute cash, securities, or other assets to a donor-advised fund, you are generally eligible to take an immediate tax deduction.

  • Charitable Remainder Unitrusts or Charitable Remainder Annuity Trusts (CRUTs/CRATs): Receive variable or fixed income for life (or a term of years) while providing significant support to OEP in the future.

  • Charitable Lead Trusts (CLTs): Generate vital, consistent income to OEP's current work during the trust term or for life, with assets later passing to your heirs or reverting to the donor.
