INTERNATIONAL MIGRANTS DAY VIGIL
Sunday, December 18, 2022 @ 3:00 to 3:30 p.m. EST (online)
As we begin the season of Advent, we recall the arduous journey of our Holy Family as they found their way to Bethlehem and then to Egypt and now can see many similarities to today's migrant families.
From December 2 - 18, immigration advocates will make a 2200-mile Journey for Justice, a 16-day border pilgrimage being spearheaded by Witness at the Border (https://witnessattheborder.org/). Advocates will travel in honor and remembrance of the lives of all migrants and asylum seekers who have suffered and even perished at the US-Mexico border. Beginning in Brownsville, TX, the journey includes stops at key border towns to show a sign of solidarity and spend the day helping those in need. It also represents the Mexican tradition of pidiendo posada, seeking shelter among strangers. The journey culminates on Sunday, December 18, International Migrants Day in San Diego, CA.
Join On Earth Peace for the rights of migrants, asylum seekers, and refugees in an online Vigil in solidarity with those making the Journey for Justice:
