COMING SOON! On Earth Peace has a new congregational enrichment initiative in development, and we are seeking pilot congregations to help test it in Fall 2018. The Congregational Peace Health Checkup provides a congregation with an opportunity to consider how their Christian commitments to peace, justice, shalom, and nonviolence are expressed in their collective life. The program starts with a simple survey, taken by congregation members, providing information about perceptions, hopes, and possibilities. Participants are asked to reflect on how theology and values of peace & justice are expressed in your congregation’s worship, formal and informal decision making, communication and conflict, leadership development practices, building use, community engagement, and more. Results are reported back to the congregation, including facts and people’s feelings about them. The summary comes with some loving encouragement, options for exploration and development, and recommendations for relevant resources. If your congregation would like to be considered for the pilot phase, please send an email to [email protected] with a few sentences about your location and demographics. (We are trying to test the Checkup in several different settings.)
