Join us for an overview of Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation. Kingian Nonviolence (KNV) is an approach to conflict and community leadership that offers values and methods useful for anyone who wants to use conflict constructively in your personal life, in group settings, or in community issues and building a reconciled world.  For Indivisible Tompkins, we will consider how KNV provides a framework for the use of direct action and community building that is rooted in nonviolent movements for social justice.

  • Initial introduction to the 6 Principles and 6 Steps - the “Will” and the “Skill” of Kingian Nonviolence.

This training will be co-facilitated by Rachel Kennedy and Marie Benner-Rhoades

Rachel Kennedy (she/her) lives with her family in the Village of Trumansburg.  She is the Youth Services Coordinator for the Town of Ulysses and is a newly certified Level 1 Trainer in Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation. 

Marie Benner-Rhoades (she/her) is a resident of Trumansburg School District (Town of Hector).  She is the youth & young adult peace formation director and a co-executive director of On Earth Peace.  Marie is a certified Level 1 trainer in Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation.  She is also a trainer and consultant in anti-racism/anti-oppression organizing, especially focused on organizational change at the board level.  Marie chairs the Open Doors English advisory board (Ithaca, NY).
