This training will be co-facilitated by Mary Quigley and Dr. Mark A. Friedman

Mary Quigley is a Kingian Nonviolence Level 1 Facilitator who received her KNV Intro from Alive Community Outreach, her KNV Core Training from University of Rhode Island Center for Nonviolence and Peace Studies, and her KNV Level 1 Certification from On Earth Peace.
Mary is a mom, teacher, writer and activist. She also has other interests including music, painting, theology, history and science.
Her main ambitions in activism are oriented toward alleviating poverty and homelessness, ensuring food justice and animal welfare, pushing for immigration reform, and providing reparations for BIPOC. She works out of Kekionga/Fort Wayne, Indiana and loves to tell people about Kingian Nonviolence and how it can magnify the positive impact of any good social action.

Dr. Mark A. Friedman is inspired to create and live in a world of Beloved Community where authentic, joyful giving and receiving contribute to creating the richest of lives for all people. Mark works with individuals empowering them to live creative, bold and prosperous lives, and with communities and organizations guiding them to fully realize their visions. Mark is a Certification Candidate with the International Center for Nonviolent Communication (CNVC) who has been living, knowing and sharing Nonviolent Communication (NVC) since 2010. Mark embraces and teaches the principles of Dr. Martin Luther King as a Certified Trainer of Kingian Nonviolence (KNV). He deeply values community, contribution, education, creativity, boldness and authenticity.
Mark has always enjoyed working with others to create organizations and communities. Mark has served as an organizer of in-person NVC International Intensive Trainings in Virginia, Brazil, Italy, New York and Florida, as well as the organizer of an online CNVC Virtual Intensive Training and a year-long training in Convergent Facilitation. Mark is a member of the Board of Directors of Houston NVC, serves as a contributor to the Rocky Mountain Compassionate Communication Network, and offers technical support of online NVC events through the NVC Academy. He has delivered trainings in NVC, created and facilitated several NVC practice groups, and participates as a member of the NVC African Diaspora Men's Group. Mark is currently co-founding Connecticut NVC with two colleagues. He is planning to create an online NVC practice group for the LGBTQ+ community. Mark is a certified life coach having completed the Coaching for Transformation program of Leadership That Works. He regularly serves as a coach and head coach in the Landmark Self Expression and Leadership Program (SELP).
Mark holds a Bachelors of Science and a Masters degree in Computer and Systems Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He had worked and consulted for large and small corporations including IBM, Hewlett-Packard Corporation (HP) and Digital Electronic Corporation (DEC), and served as a professor at Trinity College and Central Connecticut State University (CCSU). He currently develops Internet and mobile applications and teaches technologies to organizations, individuals and students with special needs.
