Join us at the beginning of 2025, on the 23rd of January from 4:00 to 5:30 pm est for an Affinity Group Orientation and Reconnect. Learn more about OEP Affinity Groups here.
For participants in Affinity Groups:
We will look back on your organizing experiences in 2024 and reflect on each group's journey so far. We want to hear about the work each group has done, and the results you are hoping to achieve next. We are excited to connect no matter how much you have accomplished (or not!).
We hope to plant seeds for 2025, so this will be a time of sharing, learning, and planning ahead.
For new folks considering Affinity Groups:
Do you see injustice or violence in your community and want to take action? Connect with others and do something in a focused way by joining or forming an Affinity Group. By forming or becoming part of an Affinity Group, you will build community, find a path for action on something you want to address, grow as a leader and practitioner of nonviolence, and develop a plan for specific next steps.
Affinity Groups are Groups forming related to gun violence prevention, political violence, authoritarianism- and the concerns that YOU bring!
Our main goal is to set you up for success in 2025 within the context of the larger OEP Affinity Group community.
What to Expect:
- Reflect with and hear from existing groups about their work so far - victories & obstacles
- Learn about the nonviolence organizing toolbox available to you as part of an OEP Affinity Group
- Share and reflect about the discipline of nonviolence
- Dream and plan for your 2025 organizing work
