Church of the Brethren Kingian Nonviolence Connection: A sacred space for conversation, resourcing and equipping
A place for any member or friend of the Church of the Brethren to come together to share and build with one another about living out what we’re learning about nonviolence
On Earth Peace is in the process of training 1000 Brethren and friends in Kingian Nonviolence Conflict Reconciliation. With almost 300 trained or exposed to KNV, this event is being offered as an informal place for Brethren to come together to connect about their own next steps, questions, and “experiments in nonviolence.” Once we settle into a regular time slot, the event will happen monthly.
What to expect:
- Connect to a broader community of Brethren interested in applying nonviolence in our lives and communities
- Reflection on how Brethren identity relates to/connects with nonviolence
- Time to ask questions or get support for your own nonviolence initiatives
- Space to share new resources and encouragement for continued growth in our KNV journey
Convenor: Valerie Helbert is a member of Peace Covenant Church of the Brethren in Durham, NC. Valerie has been program support staff in the fields of conflict transformation and reconciliation for nearly 20 years. She currently serves as a program coordinator at the Center for Reconciliation at Duke Divinity School. Valerie is a Level 1 Certified Trainer in Kingian Nonviolence.
