Peace Retreats
Through weekend Peace Retreats for youth, On Earth Peace strives to provide a safe and interactive setting where youth feel nurtured and challenged to grow in their own understanding of peacemaking. The Peace Retreats provide a strong foundation in the biblical basis for peacemaking, the historical roots of Church of the Brethren pacifism, and training in nonviolence and nonconformity for today's world. Small group work and discussions are the basic framework in which learning occurs. Through the Peace Retreats, On Earth Peace seeks to "empower people to discern the things that make for peace." Training youth in the biblical, historical and faith traditions of peacemaking, On Earth Peace empowers youth to become active and thinking participants in the world, on behalf of Christ. Outside the Box (Answer)
In order to solve this puzzle, you MUST let your pencil draw outside of the box! The directions never said you had to stay inside the black box!
Often, in our lives and in our world, we look at situations and see only one solution -- the rules are already in place and there do not seem to be any other alternatives. We drive ourselves crazy drawing the same lines -- doing the same thing -- over and over again, even though we know it just doesn't work!
Can you think of examples in your life or in the world where we need to "think outside the box?"
Times, places, situations where we need to consider what Jesus would want us to do...
Be careful! Following Jesus can be risky business!
