Apply now for the 2012 Youth Peace Travel Team!  The deadline to apply has been extended to January 31, 2012.

The Youth Peace Travel Team is a group of four Brethren young adults (age 18-23) that spend the summer traveling to Church of the Brethren camps. The Team engages and teaches youth about issues of peace and justice while living and learning with campers throughout the week.  The primary goal of the team's work is to talk with other young people about the Christian message and the Brethren tradition of peacemaking.

The Youth Peace Travel Team spends the first week of their summer in an orientation, including the Youth and Young Adult Office's Ministry Summer Service program. The Team then travels for the next eight or nine weeks to camps across the country. At each camp, the Team is called upon to do different leadership activities -- campfires, morning watch, large group sessions, small group discussions, etc. Team members use music, drama, small group activities, and other interactive tools to engage campers with peace and justice issues.

Many times the YPTT attends Annual Conference and other special youth or young adult conferences to provide workshops and leadership in the larger denomination. If you'd like to apply to be a member of this dynamic team, please contact Marie Rhoades or click here for an application.

The YPTT is a joint project of On Earth Peace, Global Mission Partnership, Brethren Volunteer Service, Outdoor Ministries Association, Youth and Young Adult Ministry.
