Join us at beautiful Camp Emmanuel!

Camp Emmanuel is located three miles south of Astoria, Ill., (on US Rt. 24) some 17
miles west of Havana (55 miles west of I-55 on US 136) and the Illinois River. The Camp
sits on the shore of spring-fed Lake Emmanuel, created in the 1920s to supply the local
steam locomotives with water. The lake is great for boating (row, paddle), fishing (crappie,
bass, blue gill, catfish), and swimming off the floating docks and beach. There are plenty of
opportunities to interact with nature (turtles, birds, deer, coyotes among others), hike the
Senger Trail, play Ping Pong, Foozeball, Four-square, Volleyball, Basketball, or enjoy the
swings, teeter-totter, slide, and sandbox in the playground. Check it all out on the Camp
website at http://www.cob-net.org/camp/emmanuel/index.htm which also has directions,
photos and more.

Lodging - Campers will sleep in rustic cabins or dorms furnished with bunk beds, or in
your own tent or RV. Plan on sharing cabin space with other individuals or families, so
please, on your registration indicate anyone with whom you want to share space. Please
bring your own bedding and towels as the Camp doesn’t provide these. There are a
number of hookups for RVs with electricity (20 or 30 amp). Hot showers are provided in
common bathhouses. There are no motel-style rooms available for those with advanced
age or special needs, but distances are very short, the camp is not hilly, and there are a
couple of options for close bathrooms.

Food - Arlene Kindy and her crew will cook for us again this year, so complete
vegetarian options will be available at every meal. If you have special dietary, health or
housing needs, please note them on your reservation and we’ll do our best to meet them.
Please bring a new table grace to add to our repertoire.

Craft Project - Contact Ken if you have a good craft project to share and lead.
