The lyrics to "River's Gonna Rise Up":
It begins with a voice saying Listen
It begins with a voice crying Hear me out
But when no one cares, and patience comes to an end,
the whispers rise into a shout

Then the tide of tears
starts to turn
And the flames of fear
start to burn

Till the fires rage
Eye for eye from age to age
and the burning hands
write history's page...

We cry peace, peace, peace
But there is no peace;
Lord, forgive us,
We know not what we do.
Till the cries for justice have been answered
Peace will be an empty word.

Until the sun sets on our anger
Until the sun sets on our greed
Until the Empire's walls start to crumble
and we learn again to see our neighbor's need

We'll cry peace, peace, peace
until there is peace,
Lord, be with us,
for what else can we do?

Till the cries for justice have been answered,
and peace has had the final word.

So make it real,
make it something you can feel
look up higher
for something cool to quench the fire

Let the raindrops fall
in the form of prayer
Let the river rise
in the deeds we dare

River's gonna rise up,
Rain's gonna fall,
River's gonna rise up,
Rain's gonna fall

"Blessed to be a Winess"

Kay Guyer, a local IDOPP organizer in the 2008 campaign and On Earth Peace intern for 2010, put together a powerful 4-1/2 minute video called "Blessed to Be a Witness", which fit nicely the Shalom theme of the 2009 On Earth Peace campaign for the International Day of Prayer for Peace.

The lyrics and music are by Ben Harper.
